Lunchtime Session: ‘The Timeless Wisdom of Warren Buffett’

This lunchtime seminar will take participants through some of Warren Buffett's most famous and insightful quotations from his annual shareholder letters and use them to illustrate important finance and business concepts.

Caroline Kirrane lectures in Trinity Business School and for the Institute of Directors and specialises in demystifying the world of finance and accounting for executives and boards. She is a big fan of the legendary value investor known as the 'Oracle of Omaha' and an avid student of his Berkshire Hathaway annual letters. 

Many are familiar with Buffett's famous quote from his 2004 shareholder letter "You only learn who has been swimming naked when the tide goes out." But did you know that Buffett issued this caution after stating that "rapid growth sometimes masks major underlying problems"? In this interactive seminar, Caroline will discuss a number of "Buffettisms" and give some context and background so as to better understand finance and business.
